Winner of Southern Living’s "The South’s Tastiest Towns" Award Goes to Lafayette!

Today the winner for Southern Living’s Tastiest Towns in the South was announced and Lafayette, Louisiana won! Ten cities competed for the title. Lafayette won with 194,502 votes. The runner up was Louisville, Kentucky with 159,006 votes, the third city was New Orleans at 57,842 votes, and Charleston, South Carolina was fourth with 34,283. Woo Hoo!

For all Hawk’s Restaurant fans – You will be pleased to discover that it will open for Crawfish season on February 15, 2012.

Hawk’s is world renowned for serving “The best boiled crawfish” and is only open during Crawfish season. They select and grow their own crawfish and purge them, resulting in a rich, savory flavor.

I always tell guests that Hawk’s comes with a warning – Once you have had their famous boiled crawfish, you are sure to plan your next visit to our Louisiana bed and breakfast when these tasty mudbugs will be served again!

Krewe des Chiens – Parade for Dogs Downtown, Lafayette Parade at 2 pm, Registration opens at noon, $25 registration fee in advance; $35 day of parade. 

Carencro Mardi Gras Parade – 11 am.  Starts at Carencro High. Ends by Carencro Community Center.  
SUNDAY, FEB 17-19
51ST Courir de Mardi Gras – Downtown Church point, Friday 5-10:30 pm, Saturday 8:30 am-10:30 pm, Sunday 7 am-4 pm. 
Saturday – Children’s Run & Children’s Parade.

Krewe De Mardi Gras Creole Parade – Rayne, 1 pm.

Noel Acadien au Village is a wonderful holiday festival happening now, near our Lafayette Bed and Breakfast!

Enjoy the splendor of over a half million lights, nightly entertainment, local cuisine, photos with Santa and kiddie carnival rides.
