The Alexandre Mouton House (also known as the Lafayette Museum) is located in the heart of downtown Lafayette. The original structure was built in the 1800s by the founder of Vermilionville, Jean Mouton. The house later became home to Louisiana’s 12th governor, Alexandre Mouton. Rhythms on the River is a free concert series held on Thursday evenings in Fall and Spring from 5:30 to 8:30 pm near our Louisiana bed and breakfast. A different band is featured every week.
